Abstract
SMS (Short Message Service) is a technology that is very much in demand and used by many societies and services provided by mobile operators to send and receive short messages. SMS as a very practical, inexpensive, and efficient. Behavior of mobile users today can be said that any incoming sms will surely be read as the personal nature of mobile phones, plus the psychology that a person wants to be considered important. So any type of incoming sms, the person must be open and reading it, so that messages can be delivered quickly and more efficiently without having to notify via flyer or letter that is not necessarily going to read. In addition to sending messages between mobile users, SMS is also suitable to be applied and interact with a computer-based information systems. Attendance System Application Celep Elementary School-Based SMS Gateway 2002 is designed using UML and has the function as a conduit of information on attendance and student activities at the school to parents to be more easily and efficiently via SMS. Parents no longer have to bother coming to school only to find activities and student absenteeism.

Pendahuluan
Dewasa ini perkembangan teknologi dalam bidang komunikasi dan komputer telah membawa perubahan besar dalam bidang kehidupan manusia. Penggabungan kedua faktor pendukung teknologi tersebut mampu memberikan layanan informasi yang lebih baik. Seiring dengan perkembangan teknologi yang cukup pesat, teknologi informasi telah menjelma menjadi suatu kebutuhan yang tidak dapat dielakkan lagi. Hal tersebut berdampak kepada para manajer ataupun para pimpinan untuk berlomba-lomba memperoleh informasi yang cepat, tepat, relevan dan akurat yang mampu membantu dalam pengambilan keputusan yang tepat.
